Yesterday was a day for birds – tweet! tweet! chirrup! chirrup!
I made the clothkits big birdie skirt that I bought at the Brighton MADE 08 fair last week, which was an early birthday present to myself, and it is WONDERFUL!!! All the hem is the same length, the waistband fits, the zip isn’t wonky, and as the ads used to say ‘we lined it so you’d like it’! It truly is a skirt that I could almost wear inside out (Liberty print lining) – no bits that need a long jumper to cover or distracting jewellery – deeply satisfying and something I am vowing to do more often.
No photo yet because I haven’t found someone to take it (as it is hard to take a photo of yourself without everything being at a rather strange angle!). If you go to the Clothkits website you will see it in red and black, but mine is a deep auberginey purple with lime green flowers and feathered friends.
The extra birdie bits were the added by the birdsong radio that my lovely husband found when tuning the new digital radio! All afternoon it felt as though I sitting sewing was various woodlands, and just when the twittering slipped into the background a crow would squawk and remind me where I was (or wasn’t).
I think the men in white coats may be calling soon!!!
