Clothkits are back!!! Kay Mawer from Chichester is breathing life into the legendary British brand that started small in Lewes in the 1970s and grew and grew and grew and grew, and then went into hibernation.
I think there was a great divide in the town of my childhood between those who ‘did’ clothkits and those who ‘didn’t’. Our family was definately on the ‘didn’t’ side, but I wore home made clothes and as a teenager made many ‘interesting’ and some ‘brilliant’ garments. For a number of years I was in fact genuinely convinced that I really did have one leg longer than the other (that is quite normal for a growing gal I figured!). Only later did it dawn on me that all my ready-made clothes fitted my ‘lopsided legs’ perfectly!!
Anyway, Clothkits is back, better than ever, and after allowing my sewing machine to gather dust for too long I intend to pass on my sewing skills, such as they are, to my next generation. I may even be enticed into a skirt by the gorgeous adult designs on offer.

They also sell a few pieces of great looking jewellery……………..take a look!!!
